Cream of the Crop - 2013

On August 24, 2013, the Kona Coffee Council sponsored another successful Cream of the Crop event at the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort, thanks to the support of the Four Seasons and Kamehameha Schools.  Over 900 people attended the event, tasting 16 different coffees, sampling over a dozen different desserts, enjoying live music during the event and talking story with the coffee farmers.

There were lots of artists on hand, exhibiting a variety of art objects related to the coffee story.  There were live demonstrations of coffee processing equipment, hat making and coffee roasting.  People were able to vote for their favorite coffee in two different categories as well as select their favorite dessert in the professionals and amateurs categories. 

A professional Master of Ceremonies kept the event hopping, as he interviewed spectators, coffee farmers and the lovely and talented Mersadeez Brandt, the lovely young lady who graces this year’s Cream of the Crop poster in her authentic hula costume.
