Kona Coffee Cupping Competition

Every year, Kona coffee farmers submit their best coffee into this rigorous competition to find the best of the best.  The judging itself is a two day event, open to the public.  In addition to watching the judges, the public will also be able to sample various coffees themselves.  It's a great way to learn about coffee, find your favorites and meet some farmers.

Competition entry is for growers and processors of Kona coffee.  There are two categories:

Classic - Exclusively for growers of 100% Kona coffee.  Requires submission of five pounds of green beans.  Entry requirements below.

Crown - For growers or processors of 100% Kona coffee.  Requires 1000 pounds of green beans.  Entry by appointment only.

There is an entry fee of $25.  This fee goes directly towards fighting the coffee berry borer.

To enter, register online and pay the entry fee.  Print your entry form and bring it to the CTAHR extension office in Kainaliu, along with five pounds of your best 100% Kona coffee, from 8am-4pm, Oct. 24 - 28.
